Cambridge Practice Group
Cambridge NVC Practice Group
The practice group alternates between empathy practice and skill-building on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm. Empathy practice includes mainly large group work focusing on empathic listening. Skill building includes working with enemy images, self-violence, translating judgments, fluency in need language, receiving and expressing a no, observations vs. evaluations, beauty of the needs, intention, etc.
Some experience encouraged – for instance, you have attended a day-long workshop on NVC or have taken a foundations class and have heard of the four components (observations, feelings, needs, requests). You can listen to a free radio program with Marshall Rosenberg that gives an overview of NVC: http://www.goodradioshows.org/peaceTalksL36.html
Empathy Practice is by drop in. We request RSVPs for the skill building so we can prepare adequate materials. If you are new to the group please email us prior to attending so we can share any particulars with you and send you the address.
