Well spoken, Bonnie. It's a nice, direct way to address the ineffective "outside focus" of these sorts of patterns by returning the attention to unmet needs.

I feel inspired by your post. I usually feel anger when the leaders of my country deny responsibility for their speeches or acts. I judge them as cowards. My need is to be able to trust. I also think they need safety and space.

Thank you for the post

Carlos

Great post Bonnie! It touched on something that's touching us all and reminded us that even Republicans need compassion and understanding!

Thanks for sharing this thoughtful discussion of IFS ("Parts Therapy"). I've found it to be a wonderful approach to healing and growth, one that has remarkable power to enhance compassion towards oneself and others. It can also integrate nicely with a meditation practice, becoming a kind of self-directed guided meditation.

I am appreciating adding to my 'gratitude attitude' practice: knowing my need or needs met and after savoring it, seeing and making requests of myself to experience even more of that need in my life!
